1New KICKR Power Trainer is rated out of 5 by 192.Rated 5 out of 5 by rayman54 from Love my new KICKR!! I got the New KICKR just about a month ago and I really love it. I'd been using a Kurt Kinetic Road Machine for 5 years. Even though that was a great trainer, one can't beat the smart aspects of the KICKR. I've been predominately using it in erg mode with the free trial of TrainerRoad. My longest ride to date has been 2:45. It feels smooth and can provide far more resistance than the Road Machine. I've also done some rides with the Wahoo IOS app, though I don't like the small for factor of the phone. I use a MacBook Pro with TrainerRoad instead of a phone, much better to see the progress and such. The only complaint I have is with respect to integration with Golden Cheetah ( a free software program that allows for workout analysis as well as controlling smart trainers. I can't yet get GC to see my KICKR. All the training apps out there are great, but require a monthly subscription. That can add up after a while. I wish that Wahoo would work with GC to provide for a seamless GC integration so that those wishing to use Golden Cheeth can do so and not incur the monthly charges of all the other trainer apps.Date published: 2017-03-15Rated 5 out of 5 by MaxG from Excellent product I replaced my Elite Trainer for the Kicker. What a great difference in performance, its readings are completely accurate. I use my trainer everyday. Great job!Date published: 2017-03-10Rated 3 out of 5 by Gary Dellabate from Kick Smooth ride, realistic road inertia feel. Unfortunately fitness app has needed to be reset during each of the 10 or so rides I've done. It interrupts the ride and is annoying.Date published: 2017-03-08Rated 5 out of 5 by SR in SD from Work & Family limiting your bike time? Buy this! Used to be pretty deep into road bike riding (Boulder, San Diego), triathalons, etc. until family and job commitments took over my priorities. For 13+ years have been going down this sedentary road. Recent health conditions have prompted lifestyle changes, and the first change was to buy a Wahoo Kickr, and to pair it with Zwift. The last 3 weeks have been outstanding! This is my first trainer, and it's incredible how realistic the riding / climbing is with this setup. My girls take over the laptops, so I connect to Kickr via Bluetooth with my iPad, and sent the signal directly to flatscreen TV. Even a 35-40 minute session is an awesome experience. Whether your schedule allows for a 4:15am session, or a 9:30pm session, you now have the flexibility to get in a ride.Date published: 2017-03-02Rated 5 out of 5 by RickR from The way to go for an indoor cycling trainer I was searching for a high quality indoor trainer. I looked extensively at Peleton and Tour de France. There were tons of negative reviews about those companies, their products, and the software that they use. The owner of my local bike shop said that I should get a trainer that uses my regular bike because bike geometry is so important and the stationary bikes do not have the ability to adjust to the same geometry as my road bike. This is very true as I have struggled for years with our old stationary bike and the ones at the gym. They just never felt comfortable or natural. The KICKR with my bike feels just like being out on the open road. As I researched trainers I kept seeing the same comments about direct drive being the way to go from reviewers who had used both. I was hesitant with the direct drive idea at first because I did not want to deal with removing the rear tire and messing with the rear derailleur. After a half dozen times its now a piece of cake. I also figured this would be good practice for when I have to change a flat rear tire out on the road. A little more research and KICKR kept showing up as a top pick for direct drive controllable trainers especially for the price. And YES you definitely want a controllable trainer. We are using ZWIFT and I have to tell you that the resistance changes are so subtle that you cannot tell the KICKR is changing except for the fact that you have to work harder as you go up hill. After a couple of weeks now of using my KICKR with ZWIFT I have to tell you that this is the way to go. Stay away from the stationary bikes and get a direct drive trainer. I just went for a 2 hour ride and it felt as close to being outside as you could possibly get. My wife has been using it as well. I think she might like it even more than I do. And that's saying something because she prefers running and I prefer cycling. Switching bikes between hers and mine is now a piece of cake. My only recommendation to KICKR would be to realize that not everyone in the world owns a smartphone. The KICKR arrived very quickly, it was easy and intuitive to set up mechanically, however communication was a different issue. The WAHOO software only works with Bluetooth Light Edition 4.0 (BLE) which can be found on most smart phones but not on any desktop or laptop computer. The computers use the full Bluetooth 4.0. Also to interface with ZWIFT I had to purchase an ANT+ dongle. I borrowed a tablet from a friend that had BLE 4.0 and purchased the dongle from Amazon. After a few days to accumulate those items I was up and running. In summary if you are a true outdoor cyclist and want to stay in shape over the long and cold winters this is THE WAY TO GO. Stay away from the all in one stationary bikes as they are junk compared to this set up. Thank you WAHOO.Date published: 2017-02-26Rated 5 out of 5 by Steve9999 from Awesome Bike Trainer I bought the KICKR in December to keep up my riding fitness in the winter. The KICKR combined with ZWIFT provides the best indoor biking experience I have ever had. The KICKR was easy to set up and immediately paired with my bicycle cadence sensors and my MAC. I highly recommend this product as it is well constructed and easy to train with.Date published: 2017-02-22Rated 5 out of 5 by KJHulburt from No room for slacking I love my Kickr. Erg mode on TrainerRoad means I can't slack and that's great in a painful way. Smooth changes in resistance, as silent as is possible.Date published: 2017-02-17Rated 4 out of 5 by Christophe74 from Power KICKR Power Trainer is a fantastic tool but I bought this product a few months ago and honestly is product is really nice: nice features, easy to put in place, easy to use the program so great ! ... but after one week my chest strap was already "feeling bad": one of the contact to catch your heartbeat is already unstick (according to the price, I'm not really happy)Date published: 2017-02-14
