I've been looking for a HRM for years but I'm too much a tech lover to settle for a watch with a display that looks like it's from the 90s. I wanted something from 2012 that is updatable via firmware.
When I came across this, I knew it was a winner. LOVE that the monitor itself isn't tied to a particular app or interface. I use the Wahoo app during my workout and then synch the data to Nike+ (it exports my heart rate, pace, calories, route...).
The Wahoo app is even better that over Nike+ (and others I've tried). Super flexible in terms of voice feedback. You can set just about any variable at any interval (distance, time or gesture). Pretty fantastic.
Highly recommend.

I use the Wahoo Blue Tooth HR strap for cycling, spinning and other gym workouts. It connects easily and every time. I highly recommend this product!
|
|
As stated in the pros and cons. This product is easy to figure out but I had some initial problems figuring out how it reads your body, how to place it and what the site was referring to as electrodes. I'm also curious to know how others use it in their training.
|
|
It has worked perfect, exactly what I needed. It is light, the strap is comfortable, and is a reasonable price. If you have an iPhone 4s it's the way to go. I have never cared for wearing a wrist HRM, or a watch for that matter. I use it for running but have found I use it often when doing the P90X workout program. I have been at least 15 feet away with no signal loss, further then that you can't read it anyway. If you do get out of range it picks up the signal in a second or 2. Very pleased with the purchase.
I suspect the apps will continue to improve. I wouldn't mind a really large display of just the heart rate to toggle to.
|
|
Overall this is a great product. My only minor complaints is that sometimes it takes a little bit of adjusting on the strap to get the heart beat to register. Also I wish there was a way to customize the software to add additional exercise regimens.
These are just minor quiblles and do not materially detract from the overall excellence of the product.
|
|
Great case. Haven't had a fall yet but seems very secure. ANT + receiver works as advertised. Sync easily with Garmin heart rate strap and the Garmin speed and cadence monitor. Works like a charm. No problems with dropped signals. It has been reliable providing valuable information. Makes riding on rollers in the winter so much more fun and interesting. Download Wahoo fitness. It's free! Gives you all the info you need. Works better than other apps.

My first speed/cadence (S/C) sensor stopped working after a few months, but Wahoo support replaced it for me free (So I LOVE their support!)
All makers of these sort of sensors (e.g., Garmin) require very close proximity of the magnets to the sensors so installation is key.
I installed my S/C sensor upside down and it works just fine - perfectly, really. The reason I do this is because the spokes are moving in a direction that would be very damaging to both sensor and wheel if the sensor moved too close to the spoke. By mounting it upside-down, I am in no danger of the sensor tearing up my wheel. Like I say, it works just as well for me this way.
I wish someone could make a unit that did not have to have the magnet sooooooo close to the sensor, but nobody does. I highly recommend Wahoo sensors!

I have been using this HR monitor for a few months now. It is picked up immediately by my ANT+ devices (Wahoo dongle, and a Garmin 910xt watch). I have checked it against the HR monitors on my gym's equipment and it matches up perfectly.

I have used two other heart rate monitors in the past and the Wahoo Fitness Wahoo Blue HR Heart Rate Strap for iPhone 4S is the easiest and lightest yet. Received it on Saturday after I did my run so I had to add a ride on Sunday to check it out. The device is light, easy to assemble and relatively comfortable to wear. I use Endomondo and it quickly linked and began tracking my heart rate. i rode 6 miles and it continually monitored my heart rate without a problem. Endomondo captured all the readings and displayed them on my online record. Over the next few weeks I plan to train at my target heartrate instead of pace or distance to see if there are improvements. Get addition to my running and cycling training plans. Another important dimension. Recommend it hightly. Chuck Lanza on Endomondo

Works well for me.
My only concern is that in the future, due to bodybuilding, the strap might not be long enough to fit around me. Perhaps a larger person starting out would have a problem with this.

I have been running for 30+ years for recreation & fitness. I have always carried music & a timepiece.Combined with a new iphone 4s and the Runmeter app, the Blue HR has added a new dimension of fun & info to my workouts. The monitor works seamlessly with the app, which I can program to give me audible announcements of my heart rate & max heart rate on demand (I use an iphone remote control adapter between my favorite wired headphones and the iphone on an armband-no need to fumble with iphone & try to see display in glaring Nevada sun!) After a heart attack ten years ago, this is the perfect addition in monitoring my cardio activity while running/working out. I highly recommend it whether a weekend warrior or triathlete!(I'm so pleased that I'm actually smiling while writing this!)

I love this product. I didn't quite understand that you set up the heart ratemonitor in RunKeeper and not the standard iPhone Bluetooth set-up at once. But once configured it works great.
I've only tested it with RunKeeper, but so far so good.
Now I want a watch/display that I can wear that will work with the iPhone and BlueHR to display my HR etc while excersising. This way I can leave the iPhone in the rucksack. :)

I've been using a polar hrm for the past 8 months and found that by the time I have the hrm, phone, earphones & chest strap, I started to feel like somewhat of a transformer. I stumbled across the Wahoo running pack by accident and after some research decide to purchase it.
I used it for the first time this morning. I can't say enough good things about it. The chest strap is comfortable, the iPhone with adapter fits perfectly in the armband and is light and comfortable to wear.
I was surprised at the amount of information the Wahoo app provides. I have paired it with the 'mapmyfitness' app and the two seem to work well together.
I would never go back to using a watch style hrm after using the Wahoo running pack (unless of course I was doing something that wouldn't be suitable to have a phone ie swimming).
The fact that I can now just strap on my phone and have my music, hrm, calorie counter and gps all in one unit makes the Wahoo running pack invaluable in my opinion.

One function the Wahoo App allows you to do it to automatically upload your workouts to Garmin Connect. What is less obvious is that it will transfer information from your 310XT to your phone and then to Garmin Connect. This is particularly useful if, for some reason, your Garmin ANT Agent fails to recognise a workout, or you do not have your Garmin USB stick at hand
|

I have been waiting for 2 years for a good HR solution. Too many reasons and good apps out there for my iPhone to keep using the Garmin 305. I have been running without the HR data and wishing I had it. The heart rate info is extremely useful for my workouts and especially runs. HR data allows me to keep my workout a determined level. Also; it shows my conditioning - i.e. spring time runs have high rate, over summer, rate drops, even as speed increases - showing my conditioning improving.
The Wahoo Blue HR was very easy to setup. I was able to do it from within my favorite run App, Runmeter. From within Runmeter: More: Settings: Sensors area, turn on Bluetooth and add device by selecting Connect New Sensors. Confirm device. Done. Easy Peasy. Adjusted my Stopwatch screen to include Ave HR and current HR. Added the HR graph. Done.
Very Pleased. So happy. Thx Wahoo and Runmeter!

|
lots of data to collect, very customizable, easy set up. the only thing i noticed was that it counted calories burned alot faster than 3 of my other HR monitors (polar, suunto, and garmin). i put 2 straps at a time to compare and after an hour workout, the wahoo showed 1000 calories burned, while the others tested showed around 750-850. no biggie to me since there is no "real" way to calculate this, but i'm assuming by maybe allowing to input more details in the user profile, this would calculate closer to the other brands.

These days almost everyone has a smartphone of one make or another. And I myself dont go on a ride without my phone (obvious safety issues), so why not combine your phone with some small and very lite cycling technology? The case is nice and sturdy, it locks well so if it falls it doesnt look like you will have to go out and buy a new one. The speed/cad sensor is small and easy to install. Plus its all wireless, woo-hoo.

I do not make a habit of writing reviews, but felt there are some points that should be made.
This review is for an Iphone 4 with the Aero Bar mount
1. The case.
It is surprisingly big, but when you look at what goes into it, it makes sense.
The Phone is cradled in a silicone sleeve and I found I needed to pay special attention to the on/off button area. You do need to ensure it is fully pushed out before you insert the phone, if you don’t it is possible to turn the phone off if you go over a bump.
Take your time when placing and replacing the cover-it’s a bit fiddly but very secure. Ensure you unclip all sides and lift off squarely. Both my wife and I made the same mistake of tilting the face back on itself without realising there was a small clip at the bottom of the case.
It is possible to charge the phone whilst in the case - there is a micro USB port that is used for the spare battery. It is the same lead that is used on my WD passport harddrive.
You get this lead when you buy the extended battery.
2 The screen -
Is made of a relatively soft plastic, and if you are new to Iphone (as I am) and become accustomed to the glass face you will scratch the face if you are not careful - I did on the first day however I was wearing fingerless gloves when I did.
The sensitivity of the screen is greatly reduced when it is in the case -as you would expect, and you do have to push quite hard to activate the various controls. Don't expect the same responsiveness that you may be used to. Just do things slowly and don’t try anything too complicated whilst you are riding.
The Aero bar mount holds case quite flat and glare can be a problem. Also be careful with sweat as I experienced reduced sensitivity when it got damp. The mounting plate is excellent. it might appear quite a tight fit when you play with it on arrival, but when you add the weight of the phone, it slips on quite nicely.
My wife has bolt on Aero bars which are quite short and the mount only just fits. It might be useful if Wahoo took the opportunity to introduce some ability to offset the latch or additional slots in their cases if they have cause to re-model their moulds.
Also note that there is the ability to set the position of case more forward or aft by the orientation of the plate.
All in all we both really like the unit, and, having played with several Apps, we both prefer the Wahoo one.

I've long been a fan of the ANT+ tech. great stuff too bad not programs can utilize it. Battery works as advertised, lots of thinking went into it and it works.
|
|
I love this heart rate strap from Wahoo Fitness. It fits great and I can't even tell I'm wearing it while riding. The data transmission is excellent and picks up wonderfully on iPhone through the Wahoo Fitness bike case. It is very easy to put on and take off with the snap releases. I wear it every time I ride and have never had a single issue with it. I would definitely recommend this product.

I have been shopping for a bike mount for my iphone 4 for a while. Everything I found was subpar. This really is the best, highest quality bike mount out there. On top of the bike mount being top notch I had to contact technical support, for a minor issue they were very friendly and helpful. Customer support is key for me, don't support me and I'll look elsewhere. Looks like I will be buying other quality items from Wahoo.
Thanks for the great product and help Wahoo

This case along with the Wahoo fitness app is the best combination for a bike computer. I have traded in my Cycle Ops Joule for my iPhone 4 with Wahoo Fitness app and bike case. I use this with a Quarq power meter, Quarq speed sensor and a CycleOps heart rate monitor. I have never had any problems. I love the screens, they are clean, very clear even in sun light and it has much more detail then the Joule. I have gone through a ton of apps for Android and iPhone and this is the best all-around combination for a bike computer. oh.. and the upload to TrainingPeaks is really nice as well.
|
|
I purchased the Bike Case along with the Wahoo soft strap and run pack. I now track every ride and workout using Wahoo on my Verizon iPhone. All of my workouts are easily uploaded wirelessly to TrainingPeaks which does a great job of tracking multiple metrics including all of those collected by Wahoo. I would definitely recommend this product.

|
Nice work on designing this all-in-one unit. At first it was a little hard to get my iPhone in and out of it, mainly due to the fact I had front & back screen protectors fitted to the iPhone, which made the snap-fit tabs quite hard to close. This though demonstrates how secure the phone is when it is placed into the case, allowing for no movement and providing the iPhone with good protection from the elements as well as a degree of shock-proofing. overall I have yet to have any problems with the case or the sensors.

|
The product sets itself up so easily; the most difficult part was just getting it out of the package! The instant pace and HR data are perfect for training; plus I have my music and phone with me. The GPS mapping feature is fantastic when running in an unfamiliar area. With map-my-tracks my wife can can follow my progress should I land in a ditch! Fantastic product.
|
|
I've had a variety of bike computers and fitness products and this is by-far the best. It installs like any other bike computer and provides more data in an easy to read display than anything out there. I can upload the data before I'm off the bike and have it on my PC before I get home - Fantastic!

just been out on my first ride with the wahoo bike pack and heart rate monitor
I use this linked to mapmyride app.
really pleased with the kit gives me all the info I need while the battery lasts
I am using it with an iphones 3gs and the battery lasted about 3 hrs, half an hour from the end of my ride
I had the bluetooth and wifi off and no other apps running in the background
I can't really say this is totally the fault of the sensors or the app or the phone but I will have to buy an additional battery for longer rides
|
|
It is working as advertised so far. All I am really waiting for is the battery they are building for it. I am small compact charger now that I have velcro strapped on. I feel safe now knowing that I can get all of my bike data in 1 small compact case, and my iPhone will not get wet on a ride.

I used to run without any HRM, so when i started to use the Fisica and Premium Garmin HRM, i found out i was stressing my heart dangerously.
Now i can keep a sane running pace.
The Fisica works beautifully for that matter, and in some apps it doesnt even have to be configured.
Been my great companion ever since.
Highly recommended as the best ant+ solution

First of all, I love Runkeeper when paired with my iPhone. I've upgraded to Runkeeper Pro & Elite since I use it so often. However, I couldn't find a HR monitor I liked since I hate watches while working out. The Wahoo Run Pack is a great idea at a fair price, especially when compared to systems like the Garmin Forerunner and Timex Race Trainer. I previously owned a Polar HR monitor that I didn't use due to chest strap discomfort. Not so with the Wahoo strap, it's very comfy and doesn't ride down my chest while running.
Setup is super easy for iPhone, simply plug in the Fisica adapter, download the Wahoo app, make sure the HR sensor is recognized, & start working out!
I've tracked 10 activities with Runkeeper and Wahoo so far, I'm very satisfied with how the system works. It's great how many fitness tracking apps are compatible with this package, that is a big plus in my opinion.
For my complete (and longer) review see below:

As a multisport fitness buff I'm glad to have a flexible and comfortable HR monitor option that works with my existing training software. I plan to add a cadence meter to my tool bag once summer rolls around, it's great the Fisica adapt. is open to many different sensors. Thanks for bundling the run pack as a package, I'll be putting it to good use this year!

Just bought in europe, (store.321run.com) this amazing gadget that transforms the iphone in the best fitness gadget ever, with a miriad of apps for running and cycling, etc.
Compatible with many sensors i bought a garmin HRM that pair perfectly at the first attempt with it, in all apps.
Just hope apps evolute to output the Heartbeats with the gpx files, or be more elaborate regarding heartbeat stats. But i guess this is only the beginning!
|
|
This is a great option, as I hated the Garmin watch. You constantly have to charge the watch. Now with this heart rate monitor and the Iphone you are all set. Also the Iphone Runkeeper app uploads the data to the web automatically vs having to synch to your computer all the time with the watch.
|
|
This thing was pretty simple to use. I inserted the key, put on the heart rate monitor, started up runkeeper and bam, saw my heart rate during my run. After the fact I bought the wahoo fitness armband which fits the key and the iPhone. Pretty easy solution!
|
|
Great App, Easy to Use, Online Statistics and Logs are Excellent
|
|
I just got this for my iPhone 4 and the phone fits perfectly in the case. This is a very robust case which still allows you access to the home button and the screen while knowing that your phone is safe from the elements.
Great product!

I`m from Germany. The Fisica works great with my O-Synce Speed and Cadence Sensors togehter. My Tacx-Heartsensor works with it,too.Fast shipping and good support!

Setup was very simple after spending a few minutes to carefully position the sensors on the frame. It requires a very-close proximity to the sensor magnet which meant i had to tilt the speed sensor towards the wheel a good bit - this may be normal though, this was my first sensor install.
Instruction sheet wasn't as helpful as the installation YouTube videos on the website - but was very clearly written (no pictures)
Wakes quickly, and provides accurate and consistent data.

Very simple to setup, install and use! iPhone fits perfectly into the case with a snug fit. Had no problems syncing with my ANT+ sensors.
The case is very rugged and provides a tight seal with the rubber insert acting as a gasket to provide a water-resistant seal...
This case is an awesome accessory and easily turn your phone into an expandable cycle- or running- computer.
|
|
I got this app mainly because it allows me to measure my time in zones when I use the HR strap. I found that I really enjoy the heart rate graph also as well as the speed graph - fun to see how changes in speed lead to changes in HR. Overall highly recommended.

Awesome stuff right here!
|
|
Works well with iBody and the Withings scale integration that that provides.
Have jury rigged the cadence sensor to my spin bike - works well - and the HR monitor is very good.
For Spinning I prefer the iBody app - can watch the graph and see time in 'HR zone' - but no cadence in iBody - so come on give me spinning app or I'll have to download Digifit ;-)

Synching this is easy, I did it before it went on the bike. However getting it ON the bike has proven a challenge because there's not a single diagram showing how this is supposed to be mounted. Lots of calling out of bike parts like "chainstay" but nothing helpful at all in the way of a diagram or picture.

Title: Awesome!
This App isn't really that flashy but does what it's supposed to do. It connects to my ANT+ fitness sensors and reports the data received from each. I was really surprised how easily it connected to each sensor. I look forward to the fisica hardware being integrated into other apps!
