New KICKR SNAP Bike Trainer is rated 4.4 out of 5 by 140.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great trainer marred by initial calibration issues After waiting forever for the new 2017 Snap to come out my LBS got mine in and since then I've been happily Zwifting for three weeks now. Before I could properly enjoy it though I struggled with the initial calibration. Out of the box the resistance felt okay if a little easy but I knew a spindown would need to be done for calibration according to the included instructions. After warming the Snap up for 10 minutes as directed I did the spindown using the iOS Fitness app but after doing so the resistance was astronomical. I was struggling to get up to speed even on the flats in Zwift. A repeat spindown following the same instructions from the manual made no difference. Unfortunately it turned out Wahoo didn't explain in the instructions that there are certain things you have to do to get a proper calibration. At first I thought it needed an "Advanced Spindown" that I'd read about online but the option was missing in the Fitness app. Wahoo had apparently removed the option as a default with the release of the new, supposedly more accurate Snap. After much Google-fu I found out it doesn't show up anymore normally, including when you first unbox the unit but may pop-up if the unit determines it's necessary - or at least that's what Wahoo Support says - I've yet to see it myself. Supposedly a regular spindown is all the new Snap needs so why did mine seem so poorly calibrated? As it turns out, to get a proper spindown you have to get the contact pressure of the roller just right. For that you need to pay attention to the stats the spindown gives after you do it. It gives two stats - time and temperature. The time needed to perform the spindown needs to be between 10 to 15 seconds according to a forum I found of Snap owners. If it takes longer you have to screw the roller in to get it just right. Too short and you have to release resistance by screwing out the roller. Normally this'll take 2-3 full turns after first contact with the tire. The instructions just basically say to screw the roller in until it feels like it doesn't slip so when I first set up the Snap it didn't have enough tension so the spindown took way too long to wind down hence the trainer calibrated for more resistance. Once I figured out the correct method and dialed in my spindown time to around 12ish seconds consistently the resistance felt and power measured has been spot-on and I've been enjoying the Snap immensely. After my initial issues were solved the Snap's become an indispensable training partner with both sim mode and ERG mode in Zwift working well. Noise is more than reasonable and it feels solid and stable even with full-power sprint efforts. Overall, a great smart trainer - just do your homework on getting it first set up!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Vibration Kickr snap vibrates at high speed making uncomfortable to ride for an hour, I returned mine and upgrade to a Kickr 16 hopping this unit wont get any issues

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Surprisingly quiet I bought a certified reconditioned KICKR SNAP Trainer to save a few bucks. I'm impressed with the quality. Having used other bike trainers before, I'm really surprised how incredibly quiet this is. It can easily be used in a living room without disturbing anyone else. Works great with Zwift, though the high inclines don't feel as realistic as they should, even when everything is calibrated. There's no way that I could even manage a 14 degree climb in the real world after a long ride, but it can be done on the KICKR. Still, it does give pretty good tactile response. Better than the others I've owned.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Well engineered. Outstanding trainer I have used this he trainer for the past month integrated with the Zwift app via Bluetooth. Degree of effort for various grades apprear very accurate. Very stable, beautifully designed and constructed. if you are looking for a great indoor trainer, the Kickr Snap is worth very penny.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I love it! I really do love my SNAP. I had an initial problem with power surges, but Wahoo technical support worked hard to help me get it resolved. Since then, its been flawless. Even though its sunny and warm here in Mississippi, with long days of sunlight outside, I still find myself riding indoors multiple times a week. Paired with Zwift, its a great workout. Thanks Wahoo for great products and great support!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Amazing Training Aid I went back and forth on the Snap vs. the Kickr direct drive for about a month before deciding. Normally, I opt for the premium model but I decided that the Snap was perfect for my needs. I train about 80-100km on it per week - the rest outdoors. I bought a low-end Shimano wheel with a Vittoria training tire for about $100 - which you definitely need. Rollers eat regular tires and make a mess. I mount an Ipad up front and I regularly ride up to the radio tower on Zwift Watopia - where some of the inclines are quite steep but the Snap does an excellent job of simulating climbs. It's been a game changer and I look forward to my indoor training with the Snap!

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Quiet, easy to work with, sensor drops Excited to get this trainer and use it with zwift. I quickly found the power readings were unexpectedly low and believe the sensor isn't dropping out. Even on the wahoo utility app the Bluetooth sensor reads 50-60% at best which is trouble and I believe a source of getting dropouts. I've also tried using an ant device an inch from the flywheel. If the sensor in the flywheel isn't strong enough to work with a iPhone sitting on your handlebars what is the point. I will be putting in a ticket to wahoo because I don't think this working correctly.
